About us
KORG IDS (Innovation & Design Studio) is a newly formed transdisciplinary team split between Berlin and Tokyo designing new musical instruments for KORG. We are currently eleven people,, and are known to most under our previous alias KORG berlin.
We are actively building a team to design and engineer a completely new series of products.
We are looking for
An Electrical Engineer to join this team. Responsibilities will include:
_Designing and developing analog and digital systems from concept through to mass production.
_Prototyping, testing and iterating to solve engineering challenges.
_Bring up, debug, and evaluate PCBAs.
_Compliance testing for EMI, ESD, power fluctuation and more.
_Collaborating closely with mechanical and software engineers to bring prototypes and products to life.
About you
We are looking for an individual with:
_A love for music and musical instruments.
_A commitment to making music creation accessible to all ages.
_Practical experience in electrical design and product development.
_Experience with electrical test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, audio analysers, programmable digital loads, power meters, etc)
_Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout and generation of manufacturing data (Altium Designer preferred).
_A solid understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, including experience in DFM.
_Experience designing for and debugging communication protocols (including high speed and differential protocols), such as SPI, I2C, SDRAM, Serial Audio Protocols, USB.
_A structured, proactive way of working with good attention to detail.
_Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across disciplines.
_Motivation and curiosity to acquire skills and knowledge outside of your core competencies.
_A strong sense of project ownership and follow-through.
