About us

KORG IDS (Innovation & Design Studio) is a newly formed transdisciplinary team split between Berlin and Tokyo designing new musical instru­ments for KORG. We are currently eleven people, and are known to most under our previous alias KORG berlin.

We are actively building a team to design and engineer a completely new series of products.

We are looking for

An Embedded Software Engineer to join this team.

Responsibilities will include:

_Architecture, design and development of embedded systems for musical instruments from concept to mass production.
_Design, implementation and testing of embedded software.
_Design and implementation of software tools that aid manufacturing and testing of musical instruments.
_Collaborating closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to bring prototypes and products to life.

About you

We are looking for an individual with:

_A love for music and musical instruments.
_A commitment to making music creation accessible to all ages.
_Experience with designing embedded architectures for mass production products.
_Experience with implementing software for mass market release.
_Bare metal experience with common embedded MCU architectures, i.e. ARM32, 8/16-bit RISC architectures.
_Experience with real time and Linux embedded operating systems.
_Experience tracking and maintaining software projects in git.
_Knowledge of common board level protocols i.e. I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Serial Audio.
_A good understanding of digital signal processing.
_An understanding of electronics, to aid close co-operation with the electrical engineers.
_A structured, proactive way of working with good attention to detail.
_Motivation and curiosity to acquire skills and knowledge outside of your core competencies.
_A strong sense of project ownership and follow-through.
